Norwich City vs Liverpool FC

Liverpool Odds Against Norwich City

The first winter break in Premier League history has to come to an end as we see the return of the English Premier League. League leaders Liverpool return to league football after a much-needed break as they travel to the bottom of the table Norwich City.

Liverpool did have a game during the winter break, a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup. It was a game where no senior players took part as well as manager Jurgen Klopp delegating coaching duties to Liverpool under-23’s coach Neil Critchley as Liverpool’s youngsters claimed a famous win in front of the Kop.

Liverpool enters the game against Norwich fully fit for the first time this season. Sadio Mane returned to training this past week after missing Liverpool’s last two league games. The Reds defeated Southampton 4-0 at home the last time we saw them. Mohamed Salah took his league tally to 14 goals with a double in the win alongside goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and captain Jordan Henderson.

Norwich City, on the other hand, claimed a point away to Newcastle United as they remain seven points adrift from outside the relegation zone. They have won just one game in their last 12 and already look destined for an immediate return to the Sky Bet Championship after just one season in the Premier League.

Liverpool Odds Before the Second Matchup of the Season with Norwich City

These two teams met on the opening day of the season; a game Liverpool ran out 4-1 winners to begin their season. Former Liverpool man Luis Suarez haunted Norwich in their previous stint in the Premier League, netting 12 goals against in his three and a half years at Anfield.

Norwich’s last win over Liverpool in all competitions came in 1994 in a 1-0 win at Anfield.

Sportsbooks odds on a 17th straight Liverpool win open at -334, making them clear favorites. Odds on Norwich claiming a surprise win opens at +900. Odds on a tie open at +425.

Can Mohamed Salah Claim a Third Golden Boot in a Row?

Mohamed Salah’s goal record since joining Liverpool in 2017 has been nothing short of remarkable. In 137 appearances, he’s scored 89 goals; he’s been at the club for just two and a half years.

He secured the golden boot in his first season scoring 32 goals and shared the award the next season with teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who all netted 22 goals.

In 22 league appearances this season, Salah has 14 goals, three behind league leader Jamie Vardy. With a favorable run of fixtures including the likes of Norwich City, West Ham United, Watford, and Bournemouth, we could see Salah go on an electric goalscoring run, one of which we’ve seen before to become just the second player after Alan Shearer to win three straight Premier League golden boots.
