The Nashville Predators didn’t put their best foot forward in the debut of new coach John Hynes, as the club surrendered a 6-2 setback to Boston on Tuesday. The Predators aim to rebound from their fifth loss in six contests (1-4-1) on Thursday as they open a three-game road trip against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Captain Roman Josi set up Filip Forsberg’s power-play goal midway into the second period on Tuesday to extend his point streak to a career-high 11 games, during which he has collected seven goals and 12 assists. Josi was held off the scoresheet in Nashville’s 3-0 victory over Chicago on Oct. 29 before tallying twice in the Predators’ 7-2 setback to the Blackhawks to Nov. 16.

Chicago Blackhawks Preview

The Chicago Blackhawks have split the first two contests on their four-game homestand heading into Thursday’s tilt against the Nashville Predators. The Blackhawks answered a 4-2 victory over Detroit on Sunday by dropping a 2-1 decision to Calgary two nights later, with rookie Dominik Kubalik scoring a goal in both contests. The 24-year-old has 10 points (five goals, five assists) in his last nine games, during which Chicago has posted a 6-3-0 record.

Patrick Kane set up Kubalik’s first-period goal on Tuesday to extend his point streak to four games (four goals, four assists). The former Hart Trophy recipient, who leads the team in goals (24) and assists (31), had one of each in the Blackhawks’ 7-2 romp over the Predators on Nov. 16.
