Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trail Blazers

Dallas Mavericks Preview

Luka Doncic looks to torment Portland for the second time in less than a week when the Dallas Mavericks visit the Trail Blazers on Thursday night. Doncic knocked down a career-best eight 3-pointers while racking up 35 points, eight rebounds and seven assists on Friday in Dallas’ 120-112 home win over Portland. The star guard barely missed his 13th triple-double of the season on Tuesday when he had 36 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a 110-107 setback against the visiting Los Angeles Clippers.

Power forward Kristaps Porzingis (knee) returned from a 10-game absence Tuesday but had just 10 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Post player Dwight Powell ruptured his right Achilles tendon injury against the Clippers and is expected to undergo season-ending surgery.

Portland Trail Blazers Preview

Damian Lillard attempts to follow up a historic performance when the Portland Trail Blazers host the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. Lillard broke his own team records by scoring 61 points and making 11 3-pointers on Monday in Portland’s 129-124 overtime victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors.

Lillard, who had a 60-point outing earlier this season, became only the sixth player in NBA history with multiple 60-point efforts, joining Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain (32 times), Kobe Bryant (six), Michael Jordan (four), Elgin Baylor (three) plus Houston Rockets star James Harden (four). Shooting guard CJ McCollum (ankle) could sit out his third straight game due to an injury that occurred Friday in the Blazers’ 120-112 road loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
