Manchester City vs Crystal Palace

Manchester City Odds to Keep Momentum Against Crystal Palace

Manchester City is finding their swagger again. After two losses in four games against Manchester United and Wolves, respectively, they’ve now won three on the bounce, a feat they last achieved in early November.

In their last outing, they put on absolute masterclass away to Aston Villa. They were up 4-0 by half time thanks to a Riyad Mahrez double alongside goals from Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. It wasn’t until the second half when history was made as Sergio Aguero got his hat-trick to make it 6-0 as well as breaking a couple of records.

Aguero passed Thierry Henry to become the highest-scoring overseas player in Premier League with 177 goals. His hat-trick also made him the man with the most Premier League hat-tricks all-time with 12, over-taking Alan Shearer’s record of 11.

Aguero now has 13 league goals this season, averaging a goal every 77 minutes, the best goals to games ratio this season.

It was an emphatic performance from the Citizens who overtook Leicester City in second place and are now 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool who also have a game in hand.

We’ve seen City go on remarkable winning runs in the second half of the season like last year where they won 14 league games in a row to clinch a second consecutive league title and they may just be at the beginning of one once again.

Manchester City Odds Before the Crystal Palace Matchup

They next play Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium, a stadium that Palace collected three points last year. The London club has lost just once in their last nine games but that’s including five draws with three in their last three fixtures.

They’ve drawn 1-1 in their last three games against Southampton, Norwich City and Arsenal and their last win came against West Ham United on Boxing Day.

Palace will be happy however with their season so far, sitting in 9th despite star man Wilfried Zaha scoring just three goals in the league after handing in a transfer request last summer after a £70 million bid from Everton was rejected.

Despite Palace’s 3-2 win at the Etihad last season, previous meetings between the two sides put the advantage firmly in City’s court.

City has won the last two fixtures between the two clubs as well as four in the last six meetings alongside one loss and one tie.

Sportsbooks odds on a fourth consecutive Man City win open at -1000, making them overwhelming favorites. Odds on another away win for Palace open at +1600, according to sportsbooks. Odds on a tie between the clubs open at +900.

Can Man City Mount an Unlikely Title Challenge?

Odds on Liverpool winning the title increase each day while odds on City retaining their title decreases each day.

If there’s any team who can mount a challenge after being 14 points down in January is Manchester City. They won 14 league games in a row last season to pip Liverpool to the title with a point and they can do that again this season.

The only problem is, Liverpool have such a huge lead and will need Liverpool to drop points multiple times as well as winning all their games.

It is unlikely but there are still 17 games to play this season and if the Premier League has taught us anything, it’s to not take anything for granted.
