Florida State Seminoles Preview

The Florida State Seminoles have locked up a double bye in next month’s Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament at Greensboro, N.C. with Saturday’s victory over North Carolina State. The Seminoles are guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals of the mid-March tournament. Redshirt sophomore Malik Osborne had a season-high 12 rebounds against the Wolfpack.

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton usually runs man-to-man defense but changed to a zone for the second game in a row against N.C. State. The zone was effective. The Wolfpack were relegated to shooting from the perimeter with fewer drives to the basket. That led to 41.1-percent shooting from the floor and 31.6 percent from 3-point range. They also shot just three free-throw attempts in the second half.
