Tampa Bay Lightning Preview

The Tampa Bay Lightning have followed a 6-2-0 stretch by dropping three in a row (0-2-1), their longest regular-season losing streak since a three-game skid in March 2018. Brayden Point lifted his point total to eight (six goals, two assists) in his past six games by scoring in his third straight contest on Saturday in a 3-2 setback against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Reigning Hart Trophy recipient Nikita Kucherov set up Point’s goal in the third period to boost his point streak to five games, during which he has three goals and seven assists. Point and Kucherov each had an assist for the Lightning in their 3-2 overtime loss to the visiting Predators on Oct. 26.

Nashville Predators Preview

The Nashville Predators improved to 13-1-2 in their past 16 encounters with Tampa Bay after Ryan Ellis scored 3:15 into overtime of a 3-2 victory on Oct. 26. Captain Roman Josi scored one of Nashville’s two power-play goals in that contest and added two assists for a season-high, three-point performance. Ryan Johansen also set up a pair of goals in that game, but on Saturday, he squandered a near-breakaway chance in the first period as Nashville fell for the 10th time in 14 outings (4-7-3) with a 3-0 loss against the Florida Panthers. The Predators, who were playing on back-to-back nights for the first time this season, are now set to open a three-game homestand.
