New York Guardians at DC Defenders Odds
New York Guardians Odds
The New York Guardians hope to keep rolling in a battle of 1-0 teams as they visit DC on Saturday. The Guardians started strong during the XFL’s opening weekend, shutting down the Tampa Bay Vipers’ offense en route to a 23-3 home victory.
Quarterback Matt McGloin scored with his arm (12-yard touchdown pass) and his legs (a 1-yard rush), and the defense capped it off with Jamar Summers’ fumble return for a touchdown. New York was actually outgained by a wide margin, 394-226, but the Guardians were perfect in the red zone (2-for-2) and held the Vipers out of the end zone on four trips inside the 20.
DC Defenders Odds
After winning the first game of the new XFL, the DC Defenders look to move to 2-0 when they host the New York Guardians on Saturday. Former Ohio State star and NFL draft pick Cardale Jones shined in last week’s 31-19 win over the Seattle Dragons, going 16 of 26 for 235 yards and two touchdowns while adding 28 rushing yards.
He has plenty of weapons at his disposal, including former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Eli Rogers (six catches, 73 yards in the opener), former AAF star Rashad Ross (two grabs, 52 yards and a TD) and former Buffalo Bills tight end Khari Lee (39-yard TD). The Defenders’ defense also forced three turnovers in Week 1.
