The second-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs look to continue their string of blowout victories when they visit Santa Clara on Thursday in West Coast Conference play. The Bulldogs have won their past five games by an average of 35 points, and one of the victories was a 104-54 steamrolling of the Broncos on Jan. 16 in Spokane, Wash. Gonzaga also dominated the Broncos in last season’s visit to Santa Clara when it rolled to a 98-39 victory.

Overall, the Bulldogs have defeated the Broncos 20 straight times. Senior forward Killian Tillie is playing well, and he matched his season high of 22 points in each of the past two games. Tillie has scored at least 20 in four of the past seven contests.

Santa Clara Broncos Preview

The Santa Clara Broncos look to put up a better showing against West Coast Conference power Gonzaga when they host the second-ranked Bulldogs on Thursday night. The Broncos absorbed a 104-54 road loss to Gonzaga on Jan. 16, their 20th consecutive defeat in the series. Santa Clara’s last home game against the Zags was also a wipeout when the Broncos lost 98-39 last season.

Junior forward Josip Vrankic had 20 points and nine rebounds on Saturday in the Broncos’ 65-52 road win over San Diego to become the 35th player in Santa Clara history to reach 1,000 career points. His total sits at 1,003. The Broncos are 15-1 at home, with the setback coming on Jan. 23 when they took a 90-86 overtime loss to Pepperdine.
