BYU Cougars Preview

The BYU Cougars aim to defend their 12-game home winning streak and first AP Top 25 ranking since 2010-11 on Saturday in what promises to be a high-scoring affair with Gonzaga. The Cougars are on a seven-game overall winning streak in which they are averaging 85.3 points per game, an uptick from their 13th-ranked, 80-point-per-game average on the season. Yoeli Childs, who rejoined the team on Dec. 4 following a nine-game suspension, is averaging a team-high 20.8 points per game. He missed the Cougars’ 92-69 loss at Gonzaga on Jan. 18, a game in which his absence was perhaps most notable on the glass: The Zags outrebounded BYU 37-21.
