New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
New York Giants Preview
Eli Manning is expected to be back behind center when the New York Giants visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Manning was supplanted as the starter by rookie Daniel Jones after Week 2, but Jones suffered a high ankle sprain in last Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers and isn’t expected to play. Manning passed for 556 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions before being replaced as the starter. Running back Saquon Barkley rushed for 83 yards against Green Bay for his best output since topping 100 yards in each of the first two games of the season. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been solid on defense with a team-high four interceptions.
Philadelphia Eagles Preview
The Philadelphia Eagles seek to halt a three-game losing streak when they host the New York Giants on Monday night. Philadelphia is just a half-game behind the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East despite its recent funk. The Eagles have defeated the Giants five straight times and nine of the past 10. Quarterback Carson Wentz passed for 310 yards and three touchdowns in last week’s loss to the Miami Dolphins after tossing just one score in each of the previous five games. Tight end Zach Ertz has caught 70 passes, the fifth straight season he has reached that figure, but has found the end zone only three times. Defensive end Brandon Graham has 7.5 sacks, three more than anyone else on the team.
