Detroit Pistons at Los Angeles Clippers

Detroit Pistons Preview

Seven defeats in their past eight games is not the kind of momentum the Detroit Pistons are looking for in advance of a road game Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Detroit’s most recent defeat came Monday in a 104-81 decision at Utah. The Pistons have lost by 27 and 23 points in the first two games of a six-game road trip that extends until Tuesday.

Derek Rose scored 20 points for the Pistons on Monday while Andre Drummond had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Former Clipper Blake Griffin did not play against the Jazz because of left knee soreness, and he is listed as day-to-day.

Los Angeles Clippers Preview

The every-other-game Los Angeles Clippers will enter a home game Thursday against the Detroit Pistons on a run of inconsistency. The Clippers have followed a victory with a defeat four consecutive times and will try to break the trend against the Pistons as they enter off a 105-87 victory at Sacramento on Tuesday.

It was not the best shooting night for Los Angeles, as Paul George finished 6 of 25 from the field and Kawhi Leonard went 8 of 21. The duo went a combined 4 of 21 from 3-point range, but they also combined for 45 points. The Clippers will try to end a two-game home losing streak.
