Boston Celtics at Utah Jazz

Boston Celtics Preview

Jayson Tatum looks to continue his string of strong performances when the Boston Celtics visit the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. The All-Star made a career-best eight 3-pointers while scoring 36 points on Tuesday in Boston’s 118-106 road win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Tatum is averaging 36 points over the past four games, including matching his career high of 41 during a Sunday defeat to the Los Angles Lakers.

The Celtics, who have won 13 of their past 16 games, could be without Kemba Walker (knee) for the fourth consecutive contest. Gordon Hayward will face the Jazz in Salt Lake City for the second time since departing as a free agent after seven seasons with Utah. Hayward was ferociously booed every time he touched the ball during last season, when he scored 13 points.

Utah Jazz Preview

The Utah Jazz attempt to halt a three-game slide when they host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night. All three setbacks have come at home, with the latest a 131-111 whipping by the Phoenix Suns on Monday. The points-allowed total was the second worst of the season by the Jazz (the only one worse was an overtime game), and they also sabotaged themselves with 20 turnovers.

All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell scored 38 points against Phoenix after putting up 31 in the previous game against, vs. Houston. All-Star center Rudy Gobert’s blocked shot against the Suns made him the fifth player in Jazz history to record 1,000 blocks. Small forward Bojan Bogdanovic has hit just 10 of 33 shots during the losing streak while averaging 14.3 points during the span.
