Chicago Bulls at Sacramento Kings

Chicago Bulls Preview

The Chicago Bulls will meet another West Coast challenger Monday when they visit the Sacramento Kings, having lost three consecutive games. Two of those defeats were to the Portland Trail Blazers, including one at home, while the other was to the Golden State Warriors. The conclusion of the Bulls’ three-game trip comes after a 107-103 defeat at Portland on Friday, when Chicago had 10 shots blocked by the Blazers’ Hassan Whiteside alone.

The Bulls were also burned for 48 points over two games in a five-day span by 35-year-old Carmelo Anthony. Bulls guard Zach LaVine has scored 32.8 points per game over his last four since he was removed from a Nov. 22 game against the Miami Heat because of his play on defense.

Sacramento Kings Preview

The Sacramento Kings will look for their sixth consecutive home victory when they play host to the Chicago Bulls on Monday. A run of better play for the Kings was halted on a four-game East Coast road trip, but Sacramento returned home Saturday to earn a 100-97 overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets. The Kings were 8-5 in November, much improved from their 0-5 October.

After a slow start when he scored in single digits in two of his first four games, Kings guard Buddy Hield has scored a team-best 20.5 points per game (22.2 in November). With point guard De’Aaron Fox (ankle) out, forward Harrison Barnes has stepped up his game, scoring a season-high 30 points as the Kings rallied from a 17-point deficit against the Nuggets.
