Portland Trail Blazers Preview

The Portland Trail Blazers are looking to get on a roll, and the next step is attempting to prevail against the host Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. Portland won for just the third time in the past 11 games when it beat the visiting Charlotte Hornets 115-112 on Monday, and the Blazers are just 17-24 at the midway point of the season.

Star point guard Damian Lillard was been solid, and his 30-point performance against Charlotte represented his 15th effort of 30 or more this season. Veteran reserve forward Anthony Tolliver contributed a season-best 16 points — all in the fourth quarter — and collected a season-high 11 rebounds for the second straight contest.

Houston Rockets Preview

The Houston Rockets attempt to set a short funk aside when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. The Rockets lost 121-110 to the host Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday for their second defeat in three games, the first being a 113-92 road decision against the Oklahoma City Thunder last Thursday. Point guard Russell Westbrook will be back in the lineup after being held out for rest on Tuesday.

Westbrook has scored 20 or more points in each of his past 14 appearances. Star guard James Harden shot just 13-for-37 against the Grizzlies but tallied 41 points for his 16th outing of 40 or more this season.
