Cincinnati Bengals at Oakland Raiders

Cincinnati Bengals Preview

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Oakland on Sunday as the NFL’s only winless team at 0-9. They are one loss away from tying the franchise record for consecutive defeats in a season and worst start start to a campaign, both of which occurred when they opened 0-10 in 1993. The team also lost 10 straight midway through 2010. Among the biggest issues have been turnovers. The Bengals have recorded the fourth-most giveaways in the NFL (18) and have the fourth-worst turnover ratio (minus-12). Another Bengals issue: Defense. The club has allowed 21 or more points in all nine games, including 23 or more in its last six games.

Oakland Raiders Preview

The Oakland Raiders look to complete a home-field hat trick when they host the Bengals on Sunday. After opening the season with two straight at home, the Raiders didn’t get the opportunity to play in front of their home crowd again until a 31-24 win over Detroit in Week 9. They followed that up with a 26-24 home win over the Chargers, moving them, at 5-4, within a half-game of the Chiefs (6-4) atop the AFC West. The Raiders didn’t commit a turnover in either of the first two wins on their three-game homestand, and took advantage of five opponents mistakes in the narrow wins. Quarterback Derek Carr hasn’t thrown an interception in three straight games; he’s sitting on just four for the entire season.
