Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati Bengals Preview
The Cincinnati Bengals are coming in hot as they visit the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon. OK, fine, that is an exaggeration. But after 11 straight losses to open the season, the Bengals finally bounced back last week with a 22-6 win over the New York Jets. That ensured the Bengals would avoid matching an embarrassing NFL record with a winless season.
Now, can the Bengals make it two wins in a row? Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton is 11-4 in his career against the Browns, and he will welcome back wide receiver John Ross this weekend. Ross has been on IR since sustaining a scary chest injury at Pittsburgh in Week 4.
Cleveland Browns Preview
At 5-7, the Cleveland Browns’ playoff hopes are on life support. But two of their final four games of the regular season come against the 1-11 Cincinnati Bengals, including Sunday afternoon’s matchup in Cleveland, so not all hope is lost. The Browns are looking to bounce back from a 20-13 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers in which quarterback Baker Mayfield injured his throwing hand.
Mayfield wore a glove after inadvertently hitting his hand against an opponent’s facemask, and he could do so again this week against Cincinnati. The Browns could rely on a safe, ground-and-pound approach against the Bengals. Nick Chubb has amassed a league-best 1,175 yards plus seven touchdowns.
