Baylor Bears at Oklahoma Sooners

Baylor Bears Preview

With a win Tuesday at Oklahoma, the Baylor Bears would break the record for the longest winning streak in Big 12 history. Baylor has won 22 consecutive games, tying the mark set by Kansas in 1996-97. Ten games in the streak were decided by single digits, including six of the Bears’ 12 conference wins.

One of those close calls occurred when Baylor beat visiting Oklahoma 61-57 after the Sooners missed a potential go-ahead shot in the final seconds. The Bears are hoping for the return of MaCio Teague (wrist) after he missed their Saturday win over West Virginia. Teague, who contributed a team-high 16 points in the Bears’ win over the Sooners last month, is Baylor’s second-leading scorer, averaging 14.4 points per game.

Oklahoma Sooners Preview

Oklahoma Sooners senior forward Kristian Doolittle snapped out of a slump to average 24.7 points and 10 rebounds over the past three games. He didn’t crack double figures in five consecutive games prior to that run.

Oklahoma boasts the top scoring trio in the Big 12 and one of the best in the country with junior forward Brady Manek (15.6 points per game), Doolittle (15.5) and junior guard Austin Reaves (14.1). All three rank among the Big 12’s top 11 scorers. The Sooners bring a five-game home winning streak into the Tuesday game against No. 1 Baylor, having last fallen in Norman to then-No. 6 Kansas on Jan. 14. Oklahoma has an 11-1 home record this season.
