Chicago Blackhawks Odds
The Chicago Blackhawks return to the Western Conference quarterfinals for the first time since 2017 when they take on the Vegas Golden Knights beginning Tuesday.
Few observers expected the Blackhawks to make the playoffs for much of the regular season, but following the coronavirus pandemic, they reached the postseason as a 12th seed and pulled off a four-game victory over the fifth-seeded Edmonton Oilers during a qualifying series.
Corey Crawford played well in net, and he could go up against his former teammate, Robin Lehner, for all or part of the upcoming series. Jonathan Toews (four goals, three assists) and Dominik Kubalik (three goals, three assists) led the way for the Blackhawks during the qualifying round.
Vegas Golden Knights Odds
The Vegas Golden Knights will begin their third playoff run in as many NHL seasons when they face off against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals.
Vegas reached the Stanley Cup Final as an expansion team in 2018 but bowed out in the first round of the playoffs a year ago. This time around, the Golden Knights will be favored against Chicago because of a potent offensive attack and two veteran goaltenders, Marc-Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner, acquired from Chicago midseason.
Mark Stone (two goals, three assists) led the offense as Vegas went 3-0-0 in the just-concluded round robin to grab the West’s No. 1 seed.
