Calgary Flames Odds
The Calgary Flames entered the NHL’ restart as the No. 8 team in the Western Conference, but the have reason to be confident entering a matchup with the third-seeded Dallas Stars that starts with Game 1 on Tuesday.
The Flames defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 in a qualifier series to get into the main draw of the playoffs. They also won two of the three regular-season games against the Stars, prevailing twice in Dallas.
Calgary scored 10 goals in the final two games against the Jets, but the Flames’ power play was inconsistent in the series, going a combined 5-for-8 in Games 1 and 2 and 0-for-9 in Games 2 and 4. Goalie Cam Talbot had a 1.51 goals-against average vs. Winnipeg.
Dallas Stars Odds
The Dallas Stars are the No. 3 Western Conference seed heading into their playoffs opener against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, but they just put to rest a eight-game losing streak.
The Stars lost six in a row before the regular season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic, then dropped the first two of round-robin play between the conference’s top teams. The Stars finally tasted victory Sunday against the St. Louis Blues but had to go to a shootout to prevail 2-1. The last time they won a game in regulation was in February.
Goalie Ben Bishop (1-1 with a 2.42 GAA in the round robin) and center Tyler Seguin should be available Tuesday after they were sidelined last week due to undisclosed healthy issues.
