Arizona Coyotes Odds
The Arizona Coyotes bid to take another step forward on Wednesday when they begin their Western Conference first-round series against the second-seeded Colorado Avalanche in Edmonton.
The Coyotes, who had the conference’s 11th-best points percentage in the regular season, advanced in the postseason for the first time in eight years by dispatching the Nashville Predators in four games during the qualifying round.
Darcy Kuemper, who turned aside 49 shots in Arizona’s series-clinching, 4-3 overtime victory on Friday, produced a 3-1-0 record with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage in the series. The 30-year-old made 33 saves in the Coyotes’ 3-0 win over the Avalanche on Nov. 2. Christian Dvorak, who scored in that game, tallied twice in the series versus the Predators.
Colorado Avalanche Odds
The Colorado Avalanche hope to rebound from their lone loss in the Western Conference round-robin tournament when they play the opener of their first-round series against the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday in Edmonton.
The Avalanche settled for the conference’s second seed following a 4-3 overtime loss versus the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Nazem Kadri followed up a last-second goal in Colorado’s 2-1 win over St. Louis on Aug. 2 with three assists in the past two games. Kadri also tallied in the Avalanche’s 3-2 overtime victory over the Coyotes on Oct. 12.
Hart Trophy finalist Nathan MacKinnon had an assist in that contest, and he recorded one point in each of the Avalanche’s three games in the round-robin tournament.
