Harry Gagnon’s College Football Best Bet of Week 13
The Game:
Texas A&M Aggies at Georgia Bulldogs
The Play:
Texas A&M +13.5
Considering who the Texas A&M Aggies have lost to this season, they are 7-3
record is mighty impressive. Legitimately, nobody has had a tougher schedule in the land than the Aggies: their three losses on the season are to (1) Clemson by 14 points (2) Auburn by eight points and (3) by 19 points to Alabama when Tua was at full health. Not only that, they still have the top team in the country—the LSU Tigers—left on the docket.
That’s all the bad news. The good news is the Aggies have won four games in a row and are coming off of a 24-point win versus South Carolina. The same South Carolina that dealth Georgia their only loss of the season. This will be the first meeting between the two since the Aggies joined the conference. To beat Georgia, you have to somehow get past their dynamic defense and the Aggies certainly have some playmakers that can do just that.
Running back Isaiah Spiller has 800 yards rushing and eight touchdowns on the season while Quarterback Kelly Mond is a guy who can make things happen with his arm and his legs; Mond has 25 total touchdowns, 2500 yards passing and another 400 rushing.
Game Trends for Why This is My College Football Lock of the Week
- Texas A&M is 3-1 against the spread in their last four games
- They are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 ballgames on the road.
- Texas A&M is also 4-1 straight up and
- They are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games on the road after consecutive home games.
All the pressure in the world is on the Bulldogs to keep their No. 4 ranking intact, and with no pressure on the Aggies, I look for A&M to play tough and hang in this game until the very end. Bottom Line; I think this game is going to be a lot closer than many people think and while I won’t go far as to say the Aggies are going to win outright, I’m going on the record as saying the 13.5 points are going to be more than enough to win our bet.
The Prediction:
23 Georgia Bulldogs
20 Texas A & M Aggies
