Harry Gagnon’s College Football Best Bet of Week
The Game:
The Play:
Navy -10
On Saturday another edition of the historic Army-Navy will take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Navy finished the American Conference at 7-1 and 9-2 overall. Army currently stands at 5-7 and lost last week in Hawaii where they gave up 52 points to the Rainbows (must have spent too much time on the beach). Navy has had a very productive season scoring 432 total points for an average of 38 a game and gave up just 266. The Midshipmen were first in the nation in rushing yards at 361 a game and are 29th in total yards per game in college football. Navy has been led all season by quarterback Malcolm Perry and running back Jamale Carothers. Perry had over 1500 yards rushing and had 19 touchdowns on the season. Carothers in just seven games averaged 91 yards a game and had 13 touchdowns himself. On defense sophomore Diego Fagot led Navy with 127 tackles and had a pick 6.

Army had just 5 total passing touchdowns on the year and their leading rusher was quarterback Kelvin Hopkins and he had just 706, and that’s 800 yards less than Perry.
If we go on past history the Cadets have actually won three in a row but by just a total of 12 points. However, Navy has won the previous 14 straight and 16 of the last 17 games. Navy is not happy with losing three straight and will try everything to avenge those losses and flat out are a much superior team.
The Prediction:
26 Navy
10 Army
