The Best Prop Bets for the AFC Championship Game between the Titans and Chiefs
When the playoffs started, nobody expected the Tennessee Titans to win one game, much less two, and make their way to the AFC Championship Game. Yet, here they are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, on the road, at one of the most hostile environments in football. When the Chiefs went down 24-0 against the Houston Texans, you would have had to be the most die-hard of fans to think the Chiefs would win the game running away. But of course, a legendary choke job by the Texans and 51 Chiefs’ points later and we get to see which are our favorite player prop bets for the AFC Championship Game featuring the Titans and Chiefs.
Damien Williams Prop Bet: Will Williams Score 2+ Touchdowns (+320)
The chances of this wager are not the greatest, but Damien Williams did have seven scores in the regular season. Williams had three touchdowns last week in that wild victory against the Houston Texans and also had three touchdowns in last season’s AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. If the Chiefs just start pouring it on and the Titans continue to run out of gas, Williams just might be the guy to find paydirt on multiple occasions.
Travis Kelce Player Prop: Over/Under 79.5 Receiving Yards
Kelce had a monster season going for 1,229 yards on 97 receptions. He averaged 16.2 yards per reception against teams from the AFC South this season and in last year’s playoff win versus the Colts he had 108 yards. In last week’s win against the Texans, he was targeted 12 times and had 10 catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Look for Mahomes to use Kelce early and often while the Titans secondary worries about the other studs in the Chiefs receiving corps. I see Kelce having another really good game so take the OVER 79.5 receiving yards.
More 2nd Half Points Than 1st Half Prop Bet -115
These two teams hooked up earlier this season and despite a huge performance by Patrick Mahomes (his return from knee injury) the Titans pulled out a 35-32 victory. In that game 41 of the 67 points were scored in the second half. Last year in the AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, there were 68 points scored in the Pats win and 54 of them were in the second half.
Kansas City Chiefs -2.5 in 1st Quarter Prop Bet
The Chiefs staked the Texans 21 first quarter points last week, but I don’t expect to see that type of start for the Titans this week in Arrowhead Stadium. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Chiefs win the toss, take the kickoff and go right downfield for a quick 7-0 lead and maintain that edge throughout the first stanza.
