NFL Week 7 Best Bet: Arizona Cardinals at NY Giants Over
The Game:
The Arizona Cardinals at the New York Giants
The Play:
Cardinals at Giants OVER 49.5 Points
We know it was against the pathetic Atlanta Falcons defense but in only his 6th career game, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray went for 340 yards passing and three touchdowns. This Arizona offense is really coming together and running back David Johnson finally got going last week and it’s interesting seeing head coach Kliff Kingsbury use him more as a wide receiver. It’s pretty smart to use him as a receiver since he is probably the best catching back in the league aside from Le’Veon Bell.
Plus, Murray can produce points by running the ball (as all of my fantasy fans are nodding their heads). Even though what he did through the air was most impressive in Week 7, in Week 6 he had almost 100 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown. I can see him picking up plenty of first downs with his feet in keeping scoring drives alive, which obviously means more points.
The Giants defense has given up at least 28 points in five of their six games and the only team that didn’t was the Washington Redskins, who, you don’t need to be reminded, fired their coach last week. Daniel Jones did have a 60+ yard touchdown versus the Patriots on Thursday night thanks to a perfectly thrown ball to Golden Tate. So we know he is capable of the quick strike score. However, his ball control has been a little bit of an issue as of late, most notably throwing three interceptions against the Patriots. That’s not a bad thing though for our betting purposes! Giants turnovers could lead to quick points on the Cardinals side of it. The Giants are also being forced to throw the ball more considering they are down to their third string running back.
A couple of bones to nibble on for this game:
- Three of the last four Arizona Cardinals games on the road have gone over the total
- In the Cardinals last two games, a total of 116 points have been scored; a 58 point per game average.
Prediction:
CARDINALS 34
GIANTS 24
