EPL Odds and Favorites to Win the 2020 EPL Title

EPL Title Odds Heading into EPL Week 6

Premier League champions Manchester City and Liverpool FC remain as the two frontrunners to win the 2020 EPL Title. Despite a shock 3-2 loss to Norwich City last weekend, City remains sportsbooks favorites with odds opening at -150, a noticeable increase in odds from last week’s -250 odds.

City’s loss and Liverpool’s continued impressive form are the two most important factors considering Man City’s increase of odds. Liverpool remains slight underdogs with odds of +150, a decrease from last week’s odds of +250. Liverpool is slowly but surely bridging the odds gaps between them and Manchester City in the race to win the 2020 EPL Title.

While Liverpool turned over a 1-0 deficit to defeat Newcastle United 3-1, courtesy of a Sadio Mane brace, Manchester City turned in a horrid defensive performance which Norwich City took advantage of and ended up beating the Premier League champions 3-2. Manchester City looks to make amends this weekend against Watford FC who are currently bottom of the Premier League and remain one of just two teams not to win a game so far this season.

Liverpool faces a big test away to Chelsea, where they come up against the in-form Tammy Abraham who’s the joint Premier League top scorer alongside Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. Both teams are expected to win and with injuries to Aymeric Laporte and John Stones, Liverpool currently has the momentum in the EPL title race and will continue a fascinating battle between two giants of English Football.

The EPL Odds and the Best of the Rest Looking to Capture the Title

Tottenham Hotspur rebounded from poor form with a dominating 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace last Saturday to get back to winning ways. Heung Min-Son got his first goals of the EPL season and are one of six teams this season on eight points. Tottenham already finds themselves seven points behind Liverpool and it will be interesting to see if they can bridge that gap while it’s still early in the season.

Sportsbooks have their updated odds on winning the 2020 EPL odds at +3000. Those are the same odds from last week, and with Son back from suspension, Tottenham can feel like they can put a run together and get back to consistent winning football that they’ve shown over the last few seasons.

Arsenal is a team of ups and downs. They looked impressive in the first half of their game with Watford on Sunday, but subsequently, let go of a 2-0 lead and were lucky to not have lost the game.

Sportsbooks has the odds of Arsenal winning the EPL Title at +10000. That still might be a little low, considering Arsenal’s play and their troubles at the back with David Luiz playing like he’s still a Chelsea player.

Chelsea has been consistently improving if you take the 1-0 home loss to Valencia in the UEFA Champions League out of the equation. Chelsea’s last game was an impressive 5-2 victory over Wolves at the Molineux, where Tammy Abraham scored his first Chelsea hat-trick and fellow academy products, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount found themselves on the score sheet.

EPL Odds When Looking at the Best of the Rest

Mount, however, came off yesterday against Valencia, after a vicious foul from former Arsenal midfielder, Francis Coquelin almost broke Mount’s ankle. His absence from the team will be sorely missed despite only becoming a first-team regular this season.

Therefore, sportsbooks has Chelsea winning the 2020 EPL Title at +8000, a welcome decrease from last week’s staggering +12500.

Manchester United got a desperately needed win at home against Leicester City last Saturday, courtesy of a Marcus Rashford. They haven’t been helped with injuries either, with Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw all out with injuries. United come up against West Ham United away which will prove to be a tough game for both sides.

Sportsbooks, therefore, have Man United winning the 2020 EPL Title at +10000, staying at the same odds from last week.

Liverpool and Manchester City remain as the only two teams good enough to win the league while Liverpool has managed to bridge the odds between themselves and the champions. A win against Chelsea on the weekend could bridge them even further.
