Colorado Rockies Odds
Colorado Rockies pitcher Daniel Bard does not figure to participate in Sunday’s series finale against the Texas Rangers, but he might have provided his team some inspiration. Bard pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief Saturday in his first major league game since 2013 and also earned the victory as Colorado held on for a 3-2 win. It was the Rockies’ first victory of the season.
Nolan Arenado reached base three times Saturday on two walks and his first hit of 2020, a single. Veteran Matt Kemp delivered an RBI single in a two-run fourth inning, and Ryan McMahon and David Dahl also drove in runs. Colorado does not have a home run in its first two games.
Texas Rangers Odds
The Texas Rangers will go for a season-opening series victory when they play host to the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. The Rangers’ pitching staff sure likes the team’s new ballpark. After a shutout over the Rockies in the season opener Friday, Rangers pitchers gave up just three runs on six hits, and only one extra-base hit, in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat.
New Rangers starter Corey Kluber is set to make his first major league appearance in almost 15 months. He last pitched for the Cleveland Indians on May 1 of last year when he was hit by a line drive and came away with a fractured right forearm.
