New York Yankees Odds
New York Yankees lefty James Paxton is hoping for a reversal in form when he takes the mound in Sunday’s series finale at Tampa Bay.
Paxton has lasted just four innings total in his two starts and hasn’t been effective, allowing 12 hits and eight runs (six earned). He’s 3-1 with a 3.19 ERA in five career outings against the Rays.
Offensively, Aaron Judge continued his tear with his eighth homer in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, going 4-for-8 on the day to up his average to .309. Aaron Hicks’ average is still languishing at .206, but he’s drawn walks in nine of his last 10 games.
Tampa Bay Rays Odds
Charlie Morton looks to deliver another solid start in the Tampa Bay Rays’ series finale Sunday at home against the New York Yankees.
Morton has allowed just three runs in 10 2/3 innings since a clunker on Opening Night against Toronto. He’s 4-2 with a 3.97 ERA in eight career starts against New York. Offensively, Yandy Diaz remains a source of worry as his average is just .222, although he’s coaxed 10 walks to give him a .364 on-base percentage.
Ji-Man Choi’s bat showed signs of life in Saturday’s doubleheader split, as he went 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, improving his average to .189.
