Milwaukee Brewers Preview
After losing both games of a home interleague series against the Chicago White Sox, the Milwaukee Brewers are hoping to reverse course Wednesday when the same teams meet in Chicago.
Brewers right-hander Adrian Houser (0-0, 1.80 ERA) will aim to build on a solid start against the White Sox on July 22 at Guaranteed Rate Field, when he yielded only one run and two hits in 4 2/3 innings in a 77-pitch tune-up. Houser has not faced the White Sox during the regular season and is 2-1 with a 2.42 ERA in seven career interleague appearances, including four starts.
Milwaukee center fielder Avisail Garcia, a former White Sox player, has four hits and three RBIs in his past three games.
Chicago White Sox Preview
The streaking Chicago White Sox will try for their seventh straight win Wednesday as they return home to face the Milwaukee Brewers after topping the Brewers in back-to-back games in Wisconsin.
White Sox starter Dallas Kuechel (2-0, 3.38 ERA), who has allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings in each of his first two outings this season, has struggled against the Brewers in his career, pitching to an 0-4 record and an 8.75 ERA in five starts.
Chicago’s Nos. 1-4 hitters — Luis Robert, Yoan Moncada, Jose Abreu and Yasmani Grandal — are batting a combined .403 (29-for-72) with three home runs and 14 RBIs in the past four games.
