Chicago White Sox Preview
Winners of five consecutive games, the Chicago White Sox will complete their first road trip Tuesday when they face the Milwaukee Brewers in the finale of a two-game interleague series. Third baseman Yoan Moncada has a pair of three-hit games in the past three games to help lift a lineup that has produced 47 hits over that span.
White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (0-1, 6.52 ERA) followed a poor Opening Day start — seven runs in 3 2/3 innings — with a strong outing Wednesday at Cleveland, where he threw six shutout innings and struck out six in Chicago’s 4-0 win. The 26-year-old right-hander has not faced the Brewers in his career.
Milwaukee Brewers Preview
After falling to the Chicago White Sox 6-4 in their home opener Monday, the Milwaukee Brewers will look to salvage a game in the finale of the abbreviated interleague series on Tuesday. Former White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia drove in his first three runs of the season on Monday, and he has five hits in his past four games to raise his average to .300.
Right-hander Brandon Woodruff (1-1, 1.59 ERA) will make his first career appearance against the White Sox on Tuesday. He lost the season opener when he gave up two runs in five innings against the Cubs, then fanned 10 in 6 1/3 scoreless innings at Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
