Los Angeles Dodgers Odds
Mookie Betts is enjoying his return to the leadoff spot, going 6-for-13 with four home runs and eight RBIs over the last three games. Betts had been operating lower in the order, in part because of a recent injury to Corey Seager.
Max Muncy is batting just .175 so far this season but had a two-run single and flew out to the wall twice Saturday (one a sacrifice fly) against the Los Angeles Angels. Justin Turner had a single to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.
Rookie right-hander Dustin May (1-1, 2.75 ERA) will look to continue his impressive start when he takes the mound on the road Sunday in the series finale. May enters off consecutive six-inning outings against the San Diego Padres, giving up two earned runs in each.
Los Angeles Angels Odds
Mike Trout’s home-run barrage is on, with eight long balls over 11 August games, including a two-run shot against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.
Trout has nine home runs total to tie for the major league lead despite playing just 16 games. He did strikeout looking to end Saturday’s loss to the Dodgers with the potential tying run at second base in the 10th inning. David Fletcher went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 14 games, the longest active streak in the American League.
Right-hander Julio Teheran (0-1, 13.50 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound Sunday in the series finale. He is 0-6 over eight career starts against the Dodgers with a 5.33 ERA.
