Houston Astros Odds
Zack Greinke (0-0, 8.10 ERA) looks to bounce back from a shaky first start to the season when the Houston Astros visit the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. The 36-year-old right-hander received a no-decision against the Seattle Mariners last Sunday after allowing four runs in 3 1/3 innings.
Greinke is 6-5 with a 4.03 ERA in 15 career appearances (14 starts) versus the Angels and has struggled against Albert Pujols (14-for-38, .368, one homer) and Justin Upton (12-for-34, .353, three homers). The Astros recorded a 9-6 victory in the series opener with Kyle Tucker the hitting star, going 3-for-5 with a career-best four RBIs.
Jose Altuve had two RBIs on infield outs but was hitless in four at-bats as his average fell to .148.
Los Angeles Angels Odds
The Los Angeles Angels attempt to halt a three-game losing streak when they host the Houston Astros on Saturday. The Angels have allowed 27 runs during the slide that includes a 9-6 loss to the Astros on Friday. Mike Trout has missed the past two games while on paternity leave.
Brian Goodwin, one of the players getting increased playing time with Trout away, went 2-for-3 on Friday with a homer, a triple, two walks and three RBIs to raise his average to .450.
Right-hander Griffin Canning (0-1, 5.79 ERA) draws the start Saturday. He walked six in a 1 1/3-inning start the only time he has faced the Astros in his career, on July 15, 2019. Canning gave up three runs and two hits but wasn’t involved in the decision.
