Chicago White Sox Odds
After losing four of five in an abbreviated homestand, the Chicago White Sox will go for their seventh straight road victory Monday as they open a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers.
Left-hander Dallas Keuchel is set to get the call for Chicago. Keuchel (2-1) will look to improve upon his career-long struggles at Comerica Park, where he is 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA in four career starts, with five home runs allowed in 21 1/3 innings. The White Sox are hitting .091 (4-for-44) with runners in scoring position in the past six games.
Leury Garcia is 1-for-12 with five strikeouts in the past three games. Yoan Moncada has reached base in a career-high 20 straight games dating to last season.
Detroit Tigers Odds
Fresh off a three-game road sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Detroit Tigers will look to keep rolling Monday as they face the Chicago White Sox in the opener of a three-game series that kicks off an eight-game homestand.
Detroit manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters Sunday he is hoping the piggyback tandem of Michael Fulmer and Daniel Norris can work three innings apiece. Fulmer (0-1, 13.50 ERA) hasn’t pitched since allowing four runs and five hits, including three home runs, in 2 2/3 innings of a July 27 start against Kansas City.
Subsequent scheduled starts against Cincinnati and St. Louis were postponed due to weather and COVID-19 concerns, respectively. Center fielder JaCoby Jones, who leads the team with a .333 batting average, left Sunday’s game with abdominal tightness and is day-to-day.
