Texas Rangers Odds
The Texas Rangers can complete a revenge weekend when they go for a sweep in a three-game series Sunday at Colorado. When the Rangers opened their new ballpark in July, the Rockies won the series with two victories in three games.
Now the Rangers can top that after consecutive victories Friday and Saturday. Derek Dietrich hit his first home run with the Rangers on Saturday, in his third game with his new club. He was 3-for-3 in his Texas debut Thursday against Seattle, and Saturday’s homer came with two aboard.
Left-hander Kolby Allard (0-0, 1.00 ERA) is scheduled to start Sunday after he went five scoreless innings Aug. 8 against the Los Angeles Angels in his second outing.
Colorado Rockies
After being one of the hottest teams in baseball just a week ago, the Colorado Rockies are suddenly in a funk and having a rough homestand. Colorado is just 1-4 during its current stay in Denver, which comes to a close Sunday afternoon against the Texas Rangers.
Charlie Blackmon followed his 15-game hitting streak with a pair of hitless games Thursday and Friday before he delivered a triple and a run scored Saturday. He was left on deck as Trevor Story struck out to end a 6-4 defeat.
Right-hander Jon Gray (0-2, 6.41 ERA) is scheduled to start Sunday. He made his first start of the season July 25 against the Rangers, giving up a run on three hits over 4 2/3 innings.
