Arizona Diamondbacks Odds
Rocked by a hot offense at San Diego on Sunday, the Arizona Diamondbacks will face what could be an even hotter collection of bats at Colorado for a three-game series that starts Monday.
Diamondbacks pitching gave up six home runs to the Padres on Sunday, with Madison Bumgarner allowing four. Arizona lefty Robbie Ray (1-2, 9.45 ERA) gets the call in the opener. Ray is coming off a victory Wednesday at home against the Houston Astros, although he gave up six runs and three home runs in five innings.
Starling Marte hit a home run Saturday, his first with the Diamondbacks and first in 92 plate appearances going back to last season.
Colorado Rockies Odds
Charlie Blackmon is so hot at the plate, the Colorado Rockies’ left-handed hitter will have no qualms about facing a lefty pitcher Monday. In fact, he would prefer it. Blackmon extended his hitting streak to 13 games Sunday at Seattle and has 14 hits in 23 at-bats against left-handers this season, with the Arizona Diamondbacks set to start lefty Robbie Ray to open a three-game series at Colorado.
The Rockies have won each of their first five series and have a half-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. The Rockies are set to send right-hander Jon Gray (0-1, 3.31) to the mound in the series opener.
