Chicago White Sox Odds
The Chicago White Sox will look to rebound from a season-opening series loss when they open an eight-game road trip Monday with a visit to the American League Central rival Cleveland Indians. Chicago lost two of three to the visiting Minnesota Twins over the weekend despite a strong debut from rookie center fielder Luis Robert, who smacked his first major league home run in Sunday’s loss and is batting .364 (4-for-11).
White Sox righty Dylan Cease struck out a career-high 11 batters in his lone career appearance against the Indians last September while allowing four runs and four hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Cleveland Indians odds
Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez helped carry his team to a series win against one division rival to start the season. On Monday, he’ll look to keep it up as the Indians host the Chicago White Sox to continue a season-opening, six-game homestand.
Ramirez went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs in Sunday’s 9-2 win against the Kansas City Royals to lift the Indians to a series win. Thus far, he’s batting .417 (5-for-12) with five RBIs. Cleveland starter Aaron Civale is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in two career starts against Chicago, with two home runs allowed and six walks over 8 1/3 innings.
