Baltimore Orioles Odds
The Baltimore Orioles already get the chance to play spoiler as they seek to take two of three on the road from the Boston Red Sox in a matinee Sunday. After a 13-2 blowout loss in Friday’s season opener, right-hander Alex Cobb’s masterful outing helped the Orioles to a 7-2 victory Saturday.
Cobb went 5 1/3 innings with one run allowed in his first start since April 26, 2019, as he missed most of last season following hip surgery. Left-hander Wade LeBlanc takes the mound for Baltimore looking to regain the magic that saw him go 9-5 with a 3.72 ERA in 32 games (27 starts) for the Seattle Mariners in 2018.
Boston Red Sox Odds
The Boston Red Sox look to kick off the short season with a series victory in the rubber match of their three-game set at home against the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. After a 13-2 explosion in Friday’s season opener, Boston’s bats fell silent in a 7-2 defeat Saturday.
Leadoff man Andrew Benintendi and No. 3 hitter Rafael Devers are the main culprits, combining to go 0-for-18 through the first two games of the year. Devers struck out four times Saturday. Either hitter could receive a day off with left-hander Wade LeBlanc starting for the Orioles in the finale. Right-hander Ryan Weber gets the nod for Boston.
